On August 10^th, the Zhengzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics officially released the city’s semi-annual economic report. The city's GDP reached 700.86 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%. For the first time, Zhengzhou's half-year total economic output exceeded the milestone of 700 billion yuan. Its growth rate ranked first in Henan Province for the first time since 2016, leading the capital cities of the six central provinces and securing the second position among the national central cities.

Serving as ballast to stabilize growth, the industrial economy has increasingly become a powerful engine for Zhengzhou's high-quality development. This year, Zhengzhou BYD has repeatedly accelerated the manufacturing of complete new energy vehicles. SAIC has continued its new project layout in Zhengzhou, producing over 1.5 million complete vehicles and generating an output value exceeding 100 billion yuan. Foxconn's new business headquarters have been established, and the construction of the new display base has started in Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone. Fueled by significant projects, in the first half of this year, the added value of the city's industrial enterprises above designated size grew by 7.9% year-on-year, ranking first among all provinces in the central region, first among the provincial capitals of the central six provinces, and third among the national central cities.

This city, driven by the goal of becoming a national commercial center, has introduced a series of practical initiatives. As a result, there has been a noticeable momentum to the recovery and improvement of consumption. In the first half of this year, total retail sales of consumer goods in Zhengzhou amounted to 280.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 6.3%. The sales area of commercial residential buildings also increased by 12.3% year-on-year. The tourism industry received 79.91 million domestic tourists, marking a year-on-year increase of 57.6%. The total tourism revenue reached 99.78 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 55%. The total import and export value reached 249.35 billion yuan, ranking first among central cities and fifth among national provincial capitals.

郑州以创建国家消费中心城市为引擎，推出一批契合实际的“硬”举措，消费回升向好势头显著。从单项数据看，今年上半年，郑州市完成社会消费品零售总额2805.7亿元、同比增长6.3%，商品房销售面积同比增长12.3%；旅游行业接待国内游客7991万人次、同比增长57.6%，旅游总收入997.8亿元、同比增长55%；进出口总值完成2493.5亿元，居中部城市第1位、全国省会城市第5位。

Innovation continues to grow momentum in this city. In the first half of this year, the city's technology contract turnover reached 34.72 billion yuan (accounting for 54.2% of the province's total). The coverage rate of research and development activities among industrial enterprises above the designated size exceeded 65%. A total of 142,000 college graduates have remained in Zhengzhou for development, and the net inflow of the population reached 146,000. The average age of the city's long-term residents is 34.7 years, ranking fifth in the country. This city is currently experiencing a burst of innovative and creative vitality.
