Industry Structure Optimization: The proportion of high-tech industries and strategic emerging industries within the total added value of industries above designated size continued to rise, increasing by 6.3 and 2.8 percentage points compared to the first quarter, respectively.

Rapid Digital Economy Development: Computer communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries saw an 11.5% increase in value added during the first half of the year. Notably, the production of microcomputers and displays grew by 19.1% and 42.0%, respectively.

On July 11^th, Zhengzhou signed agreements for 87 high-quality projects during the 13^th "Three Batches" project construction event in Henan Province. These projects represent a total investment of 129.421 billion yuan.

Since the beginning of 2024, Zhengzhou's infrastructure investment has consistently grown by double-digits, becoming a crucial pillar supporting the expansion of fixed asset investment across the city.

This emphasis on infrastructure development has also had a positive ripple effect on investor confidence: Private investment in the city surged by 2.8% year-on-year in the first half of 2024. This growth rate represents a substantial 2.3 percentage point increase compared to the same period last year. While real estate development investment experienced a year-on-year decline, the rate of decline narrowed compared to the same period in the previous year.

Consumer Spending Gains Momentum

The implementation of policies promoting the replacement of old consumer goods with new ones has effectively unlocked consumer market potential in Zhengzhou. Data shows that in the first half of the year, retail sales of communication equipment, new energy vehicles, household appliances, and audio-visual equipment above designated size increased by 26.8%, 10.1%, and 7.3% year-on-year, respectively. The proportion of these categories within total retail sales above designated size also rose, increasing by 0.6, 1.6, and 1.0 percentage points, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Data reveals that in the first half of the year, the city's general public budget revenue reached 71.05 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 0.1%. Notably, expenditures on social programs rose significantly by 2.3% year-on-year.

数据显示，上半年，全市地方财政一般公共预算收入710.5亿元，同比增长0.1%。其中，民生支出同比增长2.3%。

Since the beginning of 2024, Zhengzhou has made steady progress on 31 key municipal projects aimed at improving people's livelihoods. As of the end of July, three of these projects had already been completed ahead of schedule. In the first half of the year, the city's consumer price index dropped by 0.1% year-on-year, with the decline narrowing by 0.4 percentage points compared to the first quarter.

By the end of June, the balance of local and foreign currency deposits and loans in Zhengzhou's financial institutions had grown by 5.4% year-on-year. Deposits reached 3,168.79 billion yuan, marking a 2.2% increase, while loans amounted to 3,939.47 billion yuan, representing a significant 7.9% surge.
