A total of 264 overseas Chinese youth from 18 countries and regions, including the United States, Spain, Austria, and Thailand, gathered for the 2026 "Embrace China: China Roots-seeking Tour" Summer Camp (Henan).

七月中原，夏风炽热，更炽热的是远道而来的赤子之心。来自美国、西班牙、奥地利、泰国等18个国家和地区的264名海外华裔青少年，齐聚2026年“亲情中华·中国寻根之旅”河南集结营。

Over the course of ten days from July 8^th to July 17^th, the young participants of Chinese heritage traveled through Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Pingdingshan, and other cities. With every step, they felt the essence of this ancient civilization. What they had once heard only in family stories or read in books now came alive before their eyes, transforming into tangible, unforgettable memories.

7月8日至17日，在十天的行程里，华裔青少年们走进郑州、洛阳、平顶山等地，在行走中触摸五千年文明的肌理，那些只在长辈口中听过、书里读过的片段，在眼前鲜活起来，变成可触可感的真实记忆。

The journey opened with the most solemn ceremony: worshiping the Yellow Emperor. At the Hometown of the Yellow Emperor in Xinzheng, the campers dressed in respectful attire and bowed in homage. Wang Jihan, a student from Mun Lun School in Hawaii, America, said, "Only today did I truly understand what it means to be a descendant of Yan and Huang." With reverent steps, the young participants felt the depth of their ancestral roots.

拜祖轩辕，是此行最庄重的开场。在新郑黄帝故里，营员们整肃衣冠，躬身行礼。来自美国夏威夷明伦学校的王济涵说：“今天才真正理解了什么是炎黄子孙。”青少年们用虔诚的步履，丈量着根脉的深度。

Yet nothing compared to the night of Hanfu elegance in Luoyang's ancient Luoyi district. Dressed in traditional Chinese attire, the young participants wandered through streets of blue bricks and grey tiles, as if stepping into a classical painting. Selina Zeller, a girl of mixed heritage from the Chinese Language Education Center in Vienna, Austria, initially worried that her mixed features might make her feel out of place. But the gentle reflection in the mirror assured her otherwise. "Many people told me I looked beautiful," she said with a smile. "I feel really happy." What the Hanfu carries is not only aesthetics, but also an identity that needs no translation.

而最令人沉醉的，莫过于洛阳洛邑古城的汉服之夜。身着汉服的青少年们穿梭于青砖黛瓦间，恍若画中游。来自奥地利维也纳中文教育中心的混血女孩沈丽娜起初担心“没有中国面孔”会格格不入，但镜中那位眉眼温婉的少女让她释然：“很多人说我漂亮，我很开心。”衣冠承载的不仅是美学，更是一种无需翻译的身份认同。

At the San Su Garden in Jiaxian County, Pingdingshan, the young campers stood solemnly before the graves. Li Jiaxin, a student from the Chinese Language Education Center in Vienna, Austria, had once read a book called Paradise of the Mind, in which a foreigner retraced the path of Su Dongpo. "I never imagined I would actually stand before the resting place of the person I read about," she said. From imagination to physical presence, the breath of a literary giant who lived a thousand years ago seemed to whisper in their ears.

在平顶山郏县三苏园，营员们肃立于墓前。奥地利维也纳中文教育中心的李佳欣曾读过一本《一念桃花源》，书中一位外国人重走东坡之路。“没想到我居然能见到书中人的长眠之地。”她说。从想象到触碰，千年文豪的呼吸仿佛就在耳畔。

The traditional boundaries of the classroom dissolved as experts and influencers stepped in as guides. Shi Weichao, Director of Xinzheng Cultural and Museum Center, Liu Kebai, a poet from Dengfeng, and the popular online host "Shigongzi (Poetry Gentlemen)," along with other specialists and online influencers, were invited as study tour instructors. With their guidance, every stop along the way became a living cultural lesson.

名师与达人的讲解打破课堂围墙，新郑市文博中心主任时伟超、登封籍诗人刘客白、网红主播“诗公子”等专家与网络达人受邀担任特邀研学导师，让每一次驻足都成为流动的文化课堂。

Yet the deepest emotions were stirred not by grand history, but by stories closest to home. The film Dear You brought many campers and teachers to tears. Ye Yanying, a lead teacher from the Spanish Wenxin Education Center, said, "My maternal grandmother is over ninety. As overseas Chinese, we rarely get to go back to China throughout the year. Every time we meet might be the last." The scenes on the screen mirrored the longings in their hearts; the film brought tears, but what they truly missed was home.

但最动人的，往往是离自己最近的故事。电影《给阿嬷的情书》让不少营员与老师流下热泪。西班牙文心教育领队老师叶焱颖说道：“我外祖母已经九十多岁了，我们华侨一年到头难得回去，见一面少一面。”银幕上的情节与内心的牵挂重叠，催泪的是电影，挂念的是故乡。

The ten-day journey also resonated far beyond the Central Plains. Coverage of the event was shared across 38 overseas Chinese communities in North America, Southeast Asia, and other regions, drawing praise from diplomatic officials, including the Chinese Ambassador to Malta. An online activity titled "Roots in Poetry: Feihualing" invited overseas Chinese to join a poetry chain in the comment section. The voice of the Central Plains crossed the ocean and reached distant shores.

十天的行走，也在海外激起回响。相关内容被同步至北美、东南亚等地38个华人社群，中国驻马耳他大使等外交官员相继点赞。“诗词寻根·飞花令”线上活动吸引海外华侨华人在评论区以诗词接龙。中原的声音漂洋过海，抵达更远的目光。

Short as the camp may be, it enables these young participants to find their ancestral roots. The root-seeking tour draws to a close, yet cultural seeds have sprouted in silence.

营期虽短，却足以让青少年们找到血脉的坐标，寻根之旅终有归期，文化的种子已悄然发芽。
