In recent years, the development of the Zhengzhou Metropolitan Area has been accelerating. As of May 2025, among the 17 nationally approved metropolitan areas, the Zhengzhou Metropolitan Area ranks 7^th in geographical size, 4^th in permanent population, and 10^th in economic output. This performance provides a powerful impetus to spearhead the high-quality development of the Central Plains Urban Cluster and support the Rise of the Central China strategy.

近年来，郑州都市圈建设正在不断提速。截至2025年5月，在国家已批复的17个都市圈中，郑州都市圈范围居第7位，常住人口居第4位，经济总量居第10位，为引领中原城市群高质量发展、支撑中部地区崛起提供了强劲动力。

For a metropolitan area to thrive, transportation is key. At the end of 2023, the Zhengzhou-Xuchang intercity railway line went into operation, followed in March 2025 by the Zhengzhou-Kaifeng intercity railway, which cut the travel time between Kaifeng Station and Zhengzhou East Station to as little as 25 minutes. June 2025 marks the 10^th anniversary of the Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo intercity railway. Aside from rail, comprehensive upgrades to the expressway ring roads and national and provincial trunk highways are also underway, facilitating the free flow of commerce.

建设都市圈，交通当先行。2023年底，郑许市域铁路郑许线开通运营。 2025年3月，郑开城际铁路全线贯通运营，开封站至郑州东站最快25分钟可达。2025年6月，郑焦城际铁路迎来开通运营十周年。同时高速公路环线和国省干线公路升级工程全面推进，促进经济要素自由流动。

To solidify and enhance its status as a major economic center, Zhengzhou will also promote "dual hub" construction connecting to cities like Kuala Lumpur and Mexico City. It will advance the high-quality development of the China-Europe Railway Express assembly center, complete and commission the core functional area of the Zhengzhou International Land Port, and leverage its competitive advantages in digital trade and cross-border e-commerce to expand its network of overseas warehouses.

为巩固提升枢纽能级，郑州还将加快推进郑州—吉隆坡、郑州—墨西哥城等“双枢纽”建设；高质量建设中欧班列集结中心，建成投用郑州国际陆港核心功能区；发挥数字贸易、跨境电商比较优势，加快布局海外仓。

Metropolitan areas foster the coordinated growth of large, medium, and small cities, a process that relies on the powerful driving force of the urban core. The development of key industrial corridors is steadily progressing, including the Zheng-Kai Sci-Tech Corridor and belts linking the region to Kaifeng, Xuchang, Xinxiang, and Jiaozuo. Meanwhile, major projects such as Kunpeng Software Town, Longzihu Wisdom Island, and the Zhongyuan Science and Technology City are pioneering new models of industrial collaboration.

都市圈托起大中小城市协同发展，都市圈建设离不开“圈心”的强大带动力。郑开科创走廊、开港、许港、郑新、郑焦等重点产业带规划建设持续加强，鲲鹏软件小镇、龙子湖智慧岛、中原科技城等重大项目建设更是推动形成新型产业协作模式。

The Zhengzhou-Kaifeng Automotive Industrial Belt is home to over 10 automakers and more than 100 parts suppliers, accounting for over 90% of the province's vehicle models. This has established a synergistic model with final assembly in Zhengzhou using parts manufactured in Kaifeng. Similarly, the superhard materials cluster—a collaborative initiative between Zhengzhou, Nanyang, Shangqiu, and Xuchang—was named a 2024 National Advanced Manufacturing Cluster, a landmark achievement for both Zhengzhou and Henan Province.

郑开汽车产业带集聚10余家车企、百余家零部件企业，覆盖全省90%以上车型，实现郑州总装、开封配套的互补协作。郑南商许超硬材料集群更入选2024年国家先进制造业集群，实现郑州及河南“零”的突破。

俯瞰郑州都市圈，郑洛先进材料、许港精密制造、郑新高新技术、郑焦智造、郑漯现代食品等产业带正在加快建设，焦作武陟、许昌长葛、新乡获嘉等郑州周边10余个智能制造装备、都市食品、新型显示、科技服务产业集群也在加快构建。
