With a strong foundation, elements of technological innovation are rapidly converging. Fourteen major institutes including the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology and Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, have established new R&D institutions in Zhengzhou. Over the past three years, more than 500,000 university students have been attracted to stay in Zhengzhou, ranking the city fifth in the country for its youthful vitality index. A national hub for regional scientific and technological innovation and an important national talent center are quickly taking shape.
