The Cainiao Bonded Park in the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone boasts an impressive array of imported goods neatly arranged on its shelves. Warehouse staff meticulously package these products for distribution to various parts of the country, enabling consumers to access global products from the comfort of their homes through e-commerce platforms.

位于郑州航空港区的菜鸟集团郑州保税园区，货架上各类进口商品琳琅满目，拣货员将商品打包发往全国各地。消费者通过电商平台下单，在家门口就能“买全球”。

According to relevant officials, more than ten aircraft from Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia arrive daily at Zhengzhou Airport, fully loaded with cargo. After being processed at the North Cargo Terminal, nearly 1,000 tons of goods from across China are then flown to global destinations. Since early 2024, Zhengzhou Airport has expanded its cargo network with over 10 new or upgraded routes, connecting to cities like Frankfurt, Chicago, and Mexico City. By the end of April 2024, the airport had handled 207,300 tons of cargo, a 14.77% increase year-on-year.

Over the past few years, Zhengzhou has witnessed an explosive surge in export volumes, giving rise to an emergent paradigm of cross-border e-commerce wherein the city embraces a global procurement and distribution network. On April 2^nd, 2018, China Gate Logistics launched a dedicated cross-border e-commerce cargo flight route between Zhengzhou and Chicago. On May 8^th, 2021, the State Council approved a pilot program in Henan Province for importing retail pharmaceuticals through cross-border e-commerce platforms. In 2023, the Henan Bonded Logistics Center recorded a total cross-border e-commerce import and export value of 19.34 billion yuan, with a total of 60.21 million cross-border e-commerce transactions.

In 2023, cargo volume through Zhengzhou's Maritime Silk Road experienced a rapid surge, with the annual sea-rail intermodal transportation volume reaching 40,689 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units), significantly surpassing the yearly target.

2023年，郑州“海上丝绸之路”货运量迅猛增长，全年海铁联运业务量完成40689标箱，大幅超额完成年度目标任务。

According to statistics from the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone, since the commencement of cross-border e-commerce business development in June 2015, the zone's business volume has skyrocketed from 746,000 orders worth 89 million yuan in 2015 to 123 million orders worth 16.621 billion yuan in 2023, representing a staggering 165-fold increase.

Enterprises Accelerate Overseas Expansion

In 2014, Xizhi Technology partnered with Google to establish the first Google Overseas Experience Center in the Greater China region. Over the past decade, the company has assisted numerous Henan-based companies, such as Mingtai Aluminum Industry, Hanwei, and Autobio, in expanding their overseas presence. By the end of 2023, Xizhi Technology had provided comprehensive overseas marketing services to over 3,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the province.

Statistics indicate that in 2023, the China Railway Express (Zhongyu) transported over 2,000 tons of cross-border e-commerce parcels. Additionally, relevant companies established 168 overseas warehouses in 44 countries and regions, covering a total area exceeding 1 million square meters. Ten companies in Zhengzhou were recognized as provincial-level model enterprises for their exemplary overseas warehousing operations.

In 2024, Zhengzhou aims to achieve a breakthrough in cross-border e-commerce transaction volume, exceeding 130 billion yuan with a 6% growth. The city also plans to operate 3,000 China-Europe freight train services and expand new routes to ports such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Fuzhou, establishing an eastward rail-sea intermodal transport corridor with a target of 40,000 TEUs of container throughput.

2024年，郑州将力争实现跨境电商交易额突破1300亿元，增长6%；开行中欧班列（中豫号）3000班；拓展至上海、广州、福州等港口新线路，打造东向铁海联运大通道，完成到发集装箱4万标箱。
